My main project for my internship is to find a media source, be it the news, local bloggers or journalists, and figure out how to have them do a article on our business. So far, my main outlet is the Union Tribune, my mentor and I have been working on a letter to send them so we could possible do a press release in the news paper. Mainly, my project requires me to sit at my computer and research possible news sources and try to contact them. I just sent the letter to the Union Tribune, so it is doubtful they will get back to me today, but when they do, i will talk about it in that post. I will have more as more becomes available, and I will post again soon.
Example of my letter:
Dear Union Tribune,
My name is Alexander Nazimov-Davis, I am a junior at High Tech High International in Point Loma and I am an intern for Good Earth Plants and GreenScaped Buildings. We are an award winning, locally owned business that designs, installs, and maintains interior and exterior landscapes since 1977.
We are local experts at building Green roofs and Living Walls. Green roofs and Living walls not only can help reduce energy bills, but can reduce the storm water runoff as well. We also run a "Green Earth - Green Plants" certified business, approved by by Johnson Fediw Associates and the Advisory Committee of the Green Earth - Green Plants. Due to the recent public interest on the topic of sustainability and "Going Green", it could be interesting for your readers to learn about our sustainable business and practices.
Local Green roof and Living walls are; The Fallen Star Green roof at UCSD, The Sharp Memorial Hospital Green roof, and the Fashion Valley Living wall. Thank you for consideration and have a great day.
Best regards,
Alex Nazimov-Davis
